Wartime Seizure to Post-war Restoration

1938-

Signs of wartime, such as the introduction of the golf course admission tax in 1938 and calls for self-restraint by the Japan Golf Association in 1940, gradually repressed golf course operations and the activities of the Kasumigaseki Country Club. The advent of the Second World War brought first a ban on caddying, and in April 1945 a suspension of KCC functions.

Wartime seizure left the course in a state of dilapidation. Restoration work was completed first on the East Course, in September 1952.

Work on the West Course followed according to designs by Seiichi Inoue, who in later years went on to be an accomplished course designer, and the 36-hole course was at last restored in June 1954.
