Japan Junior Golf Championship

Japan Junior Golf Championship 

The club has been committed to the development of golf, especially for those who aspire to play the sport under the age of 18 and have hosted the finals of the Japan Junior Golf Championship for over 40 years since 1971.

For young golfers, the Championship at Kasumi is now comparable to the Koshien, the High School Baseball Championship. Many current professional golfers look back at their experience during the Championship at Kasumi as the roots of their game.

We would like to continue to heighten the level of golf in Japan by supporting the development of the junior golfers.

National Sports Festival (Kokutai), National Sports Festival for the Kanto Region Tournament

National Sports Festival (Kokutai) 

The club served as the venue for the Sai no Kuni Magokoro Kokutai Golf Tournament held in September 2004, providing the facilities for the participating players and spectators.

Golf has become one of the official national sports since 1999 and continues to be a popular sport among the people.

The preliminary round of the National Sports Festival for the Kanto Region Tournament was held at Kasumi in 1999 and 2007.

Japan Open Golf Championship, Japan Women’s Open Golf Championship

71st Japan Open 

The club has hosted the Japan Open Golf Championship, the most important event in Japan’s golf world, four times: the seventh on the East Course in 1933, the 21st on the West Course in 1956, the 60th on the East Course in 1995, and the 71st on the West Course in 2006.
The enthusiastic cooperation of the members and local volunteers in organizing the tournaments was also highly appreciated.

In June 1999, the 32nd Japan Women’s Open Golf Championship, the club’s first women’s open competition, was held on the East Course.

International Competitions

The club is also highly regarded as a venue for official international competitions. The 1957 The Canada Cup, which triggered the popularity of golf in Japan, and the Second Asian Amateur Championship, which is recognized as a gateway to success in Asia, was held in 2010.

In 2021, the golf competition for the Tokyo Olympics was held.
