History of Kasumigaseki

1981 Nov
Kasumigaseki’s professional Yutaka Hagawa won Japan Open Championship at Japan Line CC.
1983 Apr Public Interest Committee, responsible for public interest management, was established.
1989 Mar
Club’s kindergarten ‘’Kinder House’’ was closed after supporting caddies for 20 years.
1992 Aug Present club house was completed.
1993 Oct Renovation of the West Course (greens, No.9 and 10, Architect; Taizo Kawata) was completed.
1995 Sep 60th Japan Open Championship was held at East Course (Winner: Toshimitsu Izawa).
Nov As a contribution to the local community, Kawagoe city golf games has been annually held at Kasumigaseki since 1995.
1996 Jul As part of its social welfare program, Kasumigaseki has annually invited people with autism to the golf course since 1996.
Aug As a contribution to the local community, Saitama Prefecture's golf day has been annually held at Kasumigaseki since 1996.

Sep As a contribution to the local community, Saitama Prefecture inter-city golf tournament has been annually held at Kasumigaseki since 1996.
1999 Jun 32nd Japan Women’s Open Championship was held at East Course (Winner: Mayumi Murai).
2004 Sep Men’s game of National Sports Tournament was held at East and West Course.
Oct As a contribution to the local community, Tsurugashima city golf games has been annually held at Kasumigaseki since 2004.
Oct As a contribution to the local community, Sayama city golf games has been annually held at Kasumigaseki since 2004.
2006 Oct 71st Japan Open Championship was held at West Course (Winner: Paul Sheehan).
  As a contribution to the local community, Hidaka city golf games is annually held at Kasumigaseki since 2006.
2010 Oct 2nd Asian Amateur Championship was held at West Course (Winner: Hideki Matsuyama).
2013 Sep Tokyo was selected as venue for the 2020 summer Olympic Games and Kasumigaseki was nominated to host its golf games.
2015 Mar Board of IOC officially approved Kasumigaseki as venue for the 2020 Olympics.
May Remodeling of East Course (applying one-green system, extending course distance) was approved and work started in October (Architects: Tom & Logan Fazio).
2016 Oct Remodeling of East Course was completed.
2017 Mar Opening Ceremony of New East Course was held.
Nov
US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe played at Kasumigaseki with Hideki Matsuyama.
2019 Aug Japan Junior Golf Championship was held as a test event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
2020 Mar It was announced that 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be postponed to 2021.
  Kasumigaseki was closed for about 2 months for preventing infection of COVID19.
